Stick Out Your Can, Here Comes the Garbage Man

Remember Sanford and Son's? There was a character called Bowlegs. He sang the old some with Red Fox.

That reminded me of the song he sang, "Garbage Man." Look it up.

In olden days, it was called natural resources. Today the only natural resources you have access to are trash, recyclables, cast offs and garage sales. They call me the garbage man. And this is an apropos description. It used to be an honorable trade to recycle for times of depression, war efforts, or the poor. As a kid, we would search the garbage for discarded toys after Christmas. That which others threw away, we repaired and played with. Each time we took something apart, we learned more about how things worked.
